ア〜。惜しかった！
男子テニスツアーのBNLイタリア国際（イタリア, ローマ）の準決勝（2016年5月14日）、あともう一つで、第6シードの錦織圭が第1シードのノバク・ジョコビッチ（セルビア）に勝つところだった。
３時間１分の試合で、錦織は6–2, 4–6, 6(5)–7の逆転で破られてしまい、決勝に進むことができなかった。
錦織vsジョコビッチの試合は日本時間で早朝３時から放送された。我が家にDVR等がないので、起きて観るしかなった。（告白：僕は途中で寝てしまったが、妻はちゃんと最後まで応援していた。）

ATP Roma: Djokovic non si batte, fuori anche Nishikori
Non si può dire che Novak Djokovic non ci abbia provato, a perdere questa partita. Un primo set in “formato Bellucci” un secondo set pieno di occasioni sprecate (3 palle break consecutive – 4 in totale – nel secondo game e 2, sempre consecutive, nell’ottavo) senza che Nishikori ci mettesse del suo un atteggiamento generale che non sembrava molto simile a quello di Federer contro Thiem. E invece nulla, neanche questo è servito a far perdere la sua terza partita dell’anno, al cospetto di un Kei Nishikori che è tanto forte quanto fragile emotivamente. Non inganni il maestoso recupero del terzo set, compiuto quando si trovava sotto per 1 a 4.
