アメリカン・オーサーズ「プライド」

一回聴くだけで気に入る曲、調べたくなる曲はそれほどありません。しかし、通勤中にラジオで聴いた「プライド」（Pride）という曲はその一つです。

初めて聴いときは、曲の途中からだったということもあって、私がその歌詞を十分に理解する前に曲が終わってしまいました。なぜ気に入ったかについては自分でもよく分かりませんが、私がたまたま聴いた時の気分に、特にこの曲のコーラスが合ったかも知れません。

少し調べたところ、この曲にしても、「アメリカン・オーサーズ」（American Authors）というバンド名にしても、いかにもアメリカ的だなと思いました。

アメリカン・オーサーズは、彼ら自身の影響と体験の数々を打ち出し、４つのハーモニーに生き生きとした歌詞、そして伝染しやすい楽天主義をまぶしたポップ風味のオルタナティヴ・ロックを作り上げている。
